Cancellation & Refund Policy
Last updated 6 September 2026. This covers JSON Hero Pro subscriptions bought at jsonhero.dev/pricing. The free plan involves no payment, so none of this applies to it.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time, from your profile or by emailing hello@jsonhero.dev from the address on your account. There is no cancellation fee, no notice period, and nothing to justify.
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not end your subscription immediately — you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account returns to the free plan. That is deliberate: you get what you paid for.
Refunds
Every paid feature has a free equivalent you can try first, so we ask you to evaluate the tool before you pay. That said:
- Monthly plans — 7 days. If you're unhappy within 7 days of your first payment on a monthly plan, email us and we'll refund it in full. No questions.
- Annual plans — 14 days. The same, with a longer window, because it's a bigger commitment.
- Duplicate or accidental charges. Refunded in full, whenever you spot them. If you were charged twice for the same period, or charged after cancelling, that's our error and we fix it.
- Renewals you didn't mean to keep. If a renewal charges you and you email us within 7 days without having used Pro in that new period, we'll refund it and cancel the subscription.
- Extended outages. If a Pro feature is unavailable for a prolonged period, tell us and we'll refund that time pro rata or extend your subscription — your choice.
Outside those windows we don't refund the remaining part of a period, but cancelling always stops every future charge.
How to ask for a refund
Email hello@jsonhero.dev from the address on your account, with the payment reference or order id from your receipt. Say what happened — a sentence is enough.
We reply to every refund request within 2 business days and approve or explain within 5 business days.
How long a refund takes
Approved refunds are sent back to the original payment method — we can't redirect one to a different card or account. Once we issue it, the money typically reaches you in 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. The delay after that point is on their side, not ours; we'll give you the refund reference so you can chase it if it stalls.
Where a payment was made in rupees, the refund is in rupees. Where it was made in US dollars, the refund is in US dollars, and any exchange-rate difference between the charge and the refund is set by your bank.
Before you raise a chargeback
Please email us first. A chargeback takes weeks, may get your account suspended automatically while the dispute runs, and almost always resolves slower than we can just refund you. We would rather return your money than argue about it.
When we cancel
If we suspend or close a paid account for breaching the Terms of Service, we refund the unused part of the current period, unless the breach involved fraud, chargeback abuse, or using JSON Hero to harm other people or the service itself.
If we discontinue Pro entirely, we refund the unused portion of every active subscription.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change, and the policy that applies to a payment is the one published on the day the payment was made.
